Previously, this information could only be added to the order as a whole, making it difficult to match comments to the correct items.

The solution
Checkout Comments allow buyers to add comments directly to specific products in their shopping cart. These comments are then visible throughout the checkout process and in the aftersales process, including order details and confirmation e-mails.

Let’s say you’re a manufacturer selling specialized components. A customer needs to order a set of custom-cut pipes with specific threading and a unique pressure rating. In the past, this would involve a phone call or a lengthy email exchange to ensure the details were correct.
With Checkout Comments, things get much simpler:
- For the buyer: The customer simply adds the pipes to their cart and leaves a comment specifying the exact threading and pressure rating required. They can even attach a technical drawing if needed. This eliminates any ambiguity and ensures the order is fulfilled precisely to their specifications.

How to install Checkout Comments

- Head to your Sana Admin: Go to Sana Admin > Setup > Ordering > Shopping cart. You’ll see the option to enable Checkout Comments.
- Choose your customer types: Decide which customer types you want to have access to this feature (B2C, B2B, or Sales agents). Flexibility is key, right?
- That’s it! Seriously, it’s that easy. Now your customers can start adding comments directly to their cart items.
